Workflow Automation
3 tools reviewed with honest assessments, pricing breakdowns, and GTM Engineer use cases.
Workflow automation tools are the glue connecting everything else. They move data between your enrichment tools, CRM, sequencing platform, and Slack channels. Without them, you're copying and pasting between tabs or writing custom scripts for every integration.
n8n hit 54% adoption in our 2026 survey, overtaking Zapier for the first time among GTM Engineers. The reason is simple: n8n is self-hosted, has no per-execution pricing, and gives you full control over data flow. Make (formerly Integromat) offers a strong middle ground with visual workflows and reasonable pricing. Zapier remains the easiest to start with but becomes expensive fast at scale.
GTM Engineers should evaluate automation tools on three axes: execution limits (how many operations per month before you pay more), error handling (does it retry? does it alert you?), and node/integration count (can it connect to your specific tools?). If you're running enrichment waterfalls or multi-step outbound campaigns, you need a tool that handles branching logic, loops, and API rate limiting without breaking.
